Photo Tag

Brooke tagged me...

You go to your fifth folder and pick your fifth picture...but... I am not so organized and all our pictures are in one folder. So, I just picked the 25th picture (5x5 ok?!).

The date on this is wrong, it was 3/29/06 and according to the caption on this picture, Jackson was 12 minutes old, so it was 4:42 pm. How happy I was at this moment, for the labor and delivery to be over and to have my sweet boy :). How precious he is to me.
Play along if you want!

How Blessed I am!

I saw this video on a blog I was reading today, and was moved to tears.

How blessed I am for my two precious babies, for the ease in which they came into my life. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to be a mom, for the experiences I've had as a mom thus far. I would trade it for nothing.

My heart reaches out to those who have not been able to be mothers, or who have had trouble in getting pregnant. I have seen the sadness it can bring and have also been able to directly experience the joy of it finally happening. I feel so lucky to have been apart in bringing a baby into the world that was wished for for so long. It is an experience that will stay with me forever, that I will always cherish.

I will never take for granted the opportunity I have had to be a mom!

They're Here...

Emma Grace McKinney and Joshua Ryan McKinney were born at 5:34 and 5:39 am on Sunday, November 9, 2008. The babies of proud parents of Ryan and Amy McKinney.

Amy went into labor early yesterday morning and the doctors were unable to stop it. The babies were born at only 24 weeks but so far are doing very well. Emma weighed 1.4 lbs. and Josh weighed 1.35 lbs. Nothing could have prepared me for how tiny these precious babies are, but all their little features are beautiful and perfect.

I am so proud of Amy and Ryan. They have done so well and are doing all they can at this point (which isn't much) for their babies. I think becoming a parent softens all of us somewhat and I have seen such a loving side of both of them that I have never seen before. They are excited to have their babies here, but are understandably nervous as these sweet babies are not out of the clear yet. It is hard for them that they cannot even hold their babies and it will probably be weeks before they can.

Emma and Josh are expected to be in the NICU for around 12 weeks or so. Please remember this new little family in your prayers. I think this puts the fragilty of life in perspective for all of us.

I love you, Amy and Ryan. You are in my thoughts and prayers, always.
